Stop
Pull over into a safe place and inform the Police if any damage or injury has occurred. Do not move any seriously injured parties. Inform other traffic and summon assistance.
Do not admit liability or sign any statement admitting liability
Regardless of who is to blame for the accident. If you do so your insurance company may refuse your claim.
Record witness details
Record the full name, address and telephone number of any witness to the accident.
Choose
You have the right to choose where your accident repairs are carried out. Even if your insurance company offers or recommends an alternative ‘repairer’, it is not mandatory for you to use them.
